Committed winegrowers

A demanding label for responsible winegrowing
Created in 2007, the Vignerons Engagés label is the first CSR label in the wine industry in France, based on the ISO 26000 standard. It guarantees a comprehensive approach, from vine to glass, integrating environmental, social and economic pillars. This label, audited by AFNOR, now includes more than 6,000 winegrowers and employees throughout France. By joining this ecosystem, Bestheim affirms its desire to build a more sustainable, fairer and forward-looking wine industry.

7 years of work rewarded
Since 2017, Bestheim has been developing an ambitious CSR policy: input reduction, soil cover, vitiforestry and sustainable investments. In February 2024, after a rigorous audit by AFNOR, Bestheim became the first cooperative winery in Alsace to be awarded the Vignerons Engagés (Committed Winegrowers) label, with a score of 556/1000, at the "confirmed" level. This recognition reflects the involvement of everyone: cooperative winegrowers, employees and partners.

Planting, regenerating, passing on
In 2025, Bestheim was recognized by the Verallia Vignerons Engagés Fund for its vitiforestry project in Alsace. 500 meters of hedges will be planted on 4 plots to promotewater retention, limit erosion and welcome biodiversity. This project illustrates our desire to take local action against climate change, while involving our winegrowers in a collective and meaningful approach.
