Identity
Facing due south on a hillside, the Mambourg dominates Sigolsheim. It is one of the earliest ripening hillsides in the Alsace plain. It enjoys optimal sunshine. The calcimagnesian soil develops on the limestone and marl conglomerates. It is a land of Gewurztraminer above all.
Winemaking
Long fermentation in stainless steel vats followed by extended aging on fine lees. The wine is then bottled before waiting at least a year before being released onto the market.
In the words of the winegrower …
"This terroir is particularly suited to Gewurztraminer, characterized by its power, elegance and great aromatic finesse."
Guillaume, winegrower in Bennwihr
